The Divided Brain

The basic argument of this interview is that we have really not understood the brain very well.  Beyond this basic idea, McGilchrist says that the defining element of the human brain is the frontal lobes, which act as inhibitors to our emotions and instincts.

In short, these new understandings of the brain offer a renewed understanding as to how humans can live better and more meaningful lives.

Indeed, their has been a shift in our understanding which has been subtle, but more importantly, we need to be aware of this shift if we are to deepen the purpose of our lives.
