The Way We Think about Charity is Dead Wrong

I have always been frustrated by the double standard of charities with for-profit businesses – a frustration I share with our presenter today. Why is it that we are perfectly fine with for-profit businesses spending so much money to improve their products and ideas, but we don’t allow non-profits the same ability? Instead we want all their revenue to go directly to the cause.

What Dan Polleta expresses so well in this presentation is the importance of non-profits acting more like for-profits so that they can better meet the needs of those who need them most.  It is a wonderful suggestion as to how our communities can better support those who help those who need help.
